Holi, 28 March 2005



Received Holi (28 th March 05) pics today. We had a great time this year. It had been 13 years since I played holi. Probably had developed some aversion for colors. Actually I never disliked the coloring part but I always detested the scrubbing part that ensued after holi. And these days with silver colors, and oil paints it becomes very difficult removing all the spots. You end up looking like a african baboon for 2 weeks.

This year was different, though. We just used 'gulal' and had all the decent people to play with. First we attacked suman at his house. He had just come out after his bath and that made it all the more fun. Next we went to Jignesh's house. In the last 3 years this was my first visit to his house. To add to all the colorful fun, he served 'shrikhand', which is my favorite maharashtrian dish. After stuffing ourselves we had a coloring round with hari and then some lunch too.
